The Syndicate has its first case closed.
Our debut Kickstarter campaign for True Romance: A Noir Anthology has officially funded successfully, and we couldn’t be more grateful to the readers, supporters, and backers who helped bring this project to life.
For a new press, launching our first Kickstarter felt a little like stepping into a dark alley with a flashlight and a hunch. We were quite sure who was going to show up. As it turns out, a lot of you did.
This campaign was more than just funding a book. We wanted to prove that there’s still a passionate audience for sharp storytelling, morally complex characters, and noir tales that don’t pull their punches. We also wanted to see what we could do with our first anthology.
The lineup behind this anthology made it something special.

Each author brought a unique voice to the collection: stories of love, betrayal, obsession, and consequences told through the unmistakable lens of noir. Together, they created something that perfectly represents what Alibi Syndicate Press stands for, which is
bold stories, unforgettable characters, and crime fiction that leaves a mark.
Our First Kickstarter… But Not Our Last
This campaign was a first for us, and we have to admit, it was hard work and a blast.
Kickstarter allowed us to invite readers directly into the process of launching this anthology. The support we received reminded us that great stories are never built alone. They’re backed by a community that believes in them. If this campaign proved anything, it’s that the Syndicate has a lot more stories to bring to the table.
We’re already looking ahead to future Kickstarter-powered projects, including more anthologies and special releases that bring exceptional crime fiction directly to readers.
